Dodge Sales Data & Trends for the U.S Automotive Market
Dodge is one of the five American brands by Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles and it is marketed with a bold and brawny image. The RAM trucks division was spun off from Dodge in 2010 and the brand then struggled to find its identity in the States with vehicles like the long-in-the-tooth Grand Caravan minivan, the uninspired Avenger and Dart and the value-for-money Journey, but in recent years Dodge seems to have re-found its mojo. The 707 hp Hellcat versions of the Charger and Challenger and the even more powerful Demon versions are testament to the “American muscle-car” image Dodge is aiming for.
The brand is not marketed in large numbers outside of North America and currently all of Dodge’s models for the US market are produced in North America.
The Grand Caravan is Dodge’s best selling model in the United States, while the Charger large car is the brand’s most popular sedan and the Journey its best selling crossover.
Please note: Dodge sales figures until 2008 include sales of the Dodge Dakota, Dodge Ram pick-up truck, Dodge Ram Cargo Van and Dodge Sprinter van, which were spun off to form a stand-alone RAM brand for commercial vehicles in 2008. This explains the sudden dip in sales volume from 2008 to 2009.
Please note II: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles stopped reporting monthly US sales figures in Q3 of 2019 and switched to reporting its US sales quarterly. From Q3 of 2019 onwards you will find Q1 data in the March data field, Q2 data in June, Q3 data in September and Q4 data in December.
