GAC Trumpchi Sales Data & Trends for the Chinese Automotive Market

GAC Trumpchi started making automobiles in 2000 and is a subsidiary of Guangzhou Automobile Group Co.(GAC), which also produced and marketed the Changfeng and Gonow (sub-)brands in China and has manufacturing Joint Ventures with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Honda, Mitsubishi and Toyota. GAC New Energy launched its Aion sub-brand for electric cars in 2019.

It also produces electric and plug-in hybrid versions of its GS4 crossover for these four manufacturers, which sell this same vehicle under their own brands, with the GAC logo in the grille. This is a quick and easy way for them to meet the strict Chinese emissions standard while developing their own electrified vehicles for China. We publish sales figures of these models separately under their own names: GAC-Mitsubishi Eupheme and GAC-Toyota ix4. The Honda and FCA versions will follow in 2019.
