Here you will find annual car sales figures for the United Kingdom. These statistics are Total Market Volumes, which include passenger cars as well as light commercial vehicles (LCVs).

Since the late 1990s, the UK car market has fluctuated between 2.1 million and 3 million sales, peaking in 2016 at a record 3 million units, after hitting a low of less than 2.2 million sales in 2009 as a result of the global financial crisis. From 2017 to 2019 UK car sales declined again as the economic uncertainty and exchange rate fluctuations from the Brexit vote hurt the market. LCV sales typically make up 11% of total British car sales, but their share dipped to a low of 8,5% in 2009. In 2019, LCVs were responsible for 13,7% of total light vehicle sales.
