Since the late 1990s, the Finnish car market has fluctuated between 95.000 and 165.000 annual sales. From a peak of over 163.000 sales in 2005, the market fell back to under 100.000 sales in 2009. After this, the market rebounded to above 135.000 sales in two years but fell again in the next two years. A five-year winning streak from 2014 to 2018 was broken in 2019, as car sales have returned to the average of the past 20 years. LCV sales typically make up around 10% of total car sales in Finland.
