Denmark-car-sales-statistics

Here you will find annual car sales figures for Denmark. These statistics are Total Market Volumes, which include passenger cars as well as light commercial vehicles (LCVs).

Since the late 1990s, the Danish car market has fluctuated between 125.000 and 260.000 annual sales. The market rebounded from its low or 127.000 sales in 2001 and 2003 to a peak of 217.000 in 2006 but then collapsed again, back to 127.000 in 2009. From there, the market has rebounded with 7 consecutive improvements, hitting a record 259.500 sales in 2016 before slightly declining in 2017 and 2018 and bumping back up in 2019. Interestingly, LCV sales used to average around a quarter of total car sales in Denmark, peaking at 29% in 2006, but in 2008 that share started to fall to a low of under 10% in 2010, and has been slowly growing again since, to about 14% from 2016 onwards, still just half of what it was a decade ago.
